On to the Next Chapter
Things continued on normally for a while. Life moved on and while things were not perfect, it was as normal for me as it could be.
We had to move after a pipe burst in our trailer and flooded it. The landlords did not want to fix it and told us that we would have until a certain time to find a new place. We found a place in Riley Indiana to rent but it was a little higher than what we could afford. My mom and dad talked to the landlord and to our surprise, they told us they would lower the price so that we could afford it. We moved in not too long after that and things were going great. Until my grandma died. My mom was her care taker and so she was devastated as was I because all three of us were very close. My grandma was the reason I came to love baking.
After that my dad was at work when we got a call from them saying that he was getting taken to the hospital. He was having a heart attack. Later we found out he had multiple over time and he never knew. He thought that he was just having shoulder pain during the night, got up and smoked a cigarette and went back to bed. Turns out that he had multiple 100% blockages in his heart and also some that were 80%. He had quadruple bypass and that was quite the recovery. He did quit smoking which was good, but things were never really the same.
After a little time my mom got a job for the first time in a while. She was excited and she was good at her job. My mom was a people person and she had become a demo person at Sam's Club so she made a lot of friends. One of which would make a later appearance and would end up becoming my best friend and sister from another mister.
My mom faced two more devastations when her friend and bosses sister passed away and later her friend and boss passed as well. Both from cancer which she knew all too well as a survivor. As the time passed, things between my mom and dad got worse to the point where eventually they called it quits and my mom and I moved. We found a house in Brazil Indiana and I purchased my very first house. Crazily enough, I bought my first house before my first car. My mom started seeing someone from her work and they grew closer and closer. First she started off going to his house every weekend and slowly it was more and more until she moved in with him and I lived on my own.
This is where will stop for now.
